COVID-19 cases near 750 in Buchanan County

Buchanan County and St. Joseph health officials now report 748 cases of COVID-19.

The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce reports 12,569 people have been tested in Buchanan County. The county continues to report two deaths.

Mosaic Life Care has tested 7,498 with 376 testing positive. Eleven patients are now being treated at the St. Joseph hospital; one is being treated in the Albany hospital. There are 34 tests pending.

Andrew County reports 33 cases of coronavirus.

Doniphan County, Kansas reports 18.

The Missouri Department of Health reports 14,553 cases overall with 809 deaths.

In Kansas, health officials report 10,393 cases with 232 deaths.

The Associated Press reports a state document says the Lansing Correctional Facility is largest single source of Kansas′10,393 coronavirus cases, followed by a Tyson Foods meatpacking plant near Garden City. The Kansas City Star obtained the Kansas public health report on the outbreak from Columbia University’s Brown Institute for Media Innovation, which has been gathering government documents related to the coronavirus from around the country. The confidential report lists details of every outbreak in the state as of May 19. The Lansing prison is linked to at least 846 cases of the virus and six deaths as of May 19. The Tyson plant had 571 virus cases and one death.
