For the first time since Mid-March, Missouri Western football players can return to campus Monday and begin monitored workouts. Also this summer because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Griffon coaching staff will be able to work individually with the players.

In past years, all summer workouts for Division II college football teams had to be player led and could not involve coaches, but the NCAA has changed the rule for 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic canceled spring practices for Missouri Western and nearly all college football teams around the country, so the NCAA is hoping to allowed teams to make up for missing spring ball and accelerate the process of getting ready for the 2020 season.

Missouri Western doesn't know when they'll open the 2020 football season as the NCAA has said each Division II school can only play 10 games this season.  A new schedule will likely be released later this month and the season should start the second week in September.
