On Tuesday, voters approved the general obligation bond question on the General Municipal Election ballot, with just over 75% voting 'yes.'
As previously reported, St. Joseph Mayor Bill McMurray says “Bonds For Bridges” are general obligation bonds . It’s a $20 million, 20-year program to fix approximately 10 bridges in St. Joseph, along with other related transportation infrastructure.
The property tax difference will be less than two dollars a month for a house valued at $100,000.
Results from Tuesday's voting show 4,398 voted 'yes' on the bond question and 1,457 voted 'no.' Voter turnout Tuesday was 13.6%.
