Northwest's Marcus Klein secures academic all-district honor

The 2020 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field / Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Northwest Missouri State's Marcus Klein (Harlan, Iowa) earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District squad after posting a 3.98 grade point average in mathematics. In this past season's indoor campaign, Klein jumped 7.45 meters to earn the 10th-best jump in the nation. His best leap of the year came at the Gorilla Classic on Feb. 14. Klein is a two-time indoor national championship qualifier. Klein secured All-America honors in the long jump at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. 

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 22-25. The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
