Seven MIAA football teams rank in the Top 25 in attendance; MWSU 13th

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA announced the attendance numbers for the 2019 football season which had seven MIAA members in the Top 25. 

Pittsburg State finished fifth nationally in Division II with an average of 7,705 fans per game last season. Central Missouri ranked ninth as it had an average of 7,360 fans per game. In the top 15 was Missouri Western with an average of 5,833 fans and Washburn with an average of 5,654. 

Northwest Missouri and Fort Hays State each averaged over 5,400 fans per game to finish the season in the Top 18 in the Division. Missouri Southern was the final member of the Association to be rank in the top 25 as it drew an average of 4,802 fans. 

Over 343,500 fans attended a football game on an Association’s campus last fall. The 2019 season also saw an increase of MIAA football fans compared to the previous year. To see the complete attendance numbers for the NCAA, click here
