The St. Jo Frontier Casino, closed since COVID-19 restrictions were put in place in mid-March, will reopen Monday.
Affinity Gaming, which owns the St. Joseph casino that sits on the bank of the Missouri River, announced it will reopen in accordance with authority granted Missouri’s 13 casinos by the Missouri Gaming Commission.
“We are very excited to reopen our doors and welcome back our community,” Michael Tamburelli, VP & General Manager for St. Jo Frontier Casino, said in a written statement released by Affinity.
There will be increased safety and sanitation policies to ensure the safety and health of both guests and employees when the casino reopens Monday, according to Affinity. Seating will be configured to allow for appropriate social distancing. The casino will receive a deep cleaning and be sanitized each night, the company says. Hand sanitizer and disinfectant will be available throughout the property. Employees will be required to have their temperature checked before entering the property and will also be required to wear face masks.
The first hour of operation will be reserved for guests who are 50 years old and older to provide them with easy access, less waiting, better slot machine availability, and a fresh facility after the nightly deep cleaning of the property.
