Dave Riggert had a chance to catch up with Missouri Western head football coach Matt Williamson and they discuss how Griffon players will be able to come back to campus on June 8th, the NCAA allowing the coaches to work individually with the players this summer and how his team has been able to improve despite the pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic canceled spring practices for Missouri Western and nearly all college football teams around the country, but for the first time, the NCAA is allowing coaches to work with players individually in June and July. The hope is to make up for missing spring ball and accelerate the process of getting ready for the 2020 season.

Missouri Western doesn't know when they will open the 2020 football season as the NCAA has said each Division II school can only play 10 games this season.  A new schedule will likely be released next month and the season should start the second week in September.
