MANHATTAN, Kansas – For the fifth straight season, the entirety of the Big 12 Conference and 10 members of the SEC will meet in women's basketball action for the 2020 SEC/Big 12 Challenge. K-State will host Kentucky in this year's edition, with a game date and television designation to be announced at a later date.

Kansas State has hosted Auburn (2016) and Vanderbilt (2018) in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, winning both matchups in Manhattan. The Wildcats are 71-65 all-time against programs from the SEC.

K-State and Kentucky will meet for the first time in the series between the two schools.

Kentucky completed the 2019-20 season with a 22-8 overall record and a 10-6 mark in the SEC. The Wildcats of the SEC are led on the floor by All-American selection Rhyne Howard, who averaged 23.4 points per game last season.

K-State endured four season-ending injuries in the 2019-20 season which depleted the roster by early December. However, the Wildcats (16-13, 10-8 Big 12) tied for fourth in the Big 12 and won seven of their last 10 games in the league.

Kansas State was led by 2020 Big 12 Freshman of the Year and All-Big 12 First Team selection Ayoka Lee.

The Wildcats completed the season with a winning record for the sixth straight season. The Wildcats had their 2020 postseason destination derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which canceled the 2020 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship, the 2020 NCAA Tournament and the 2020 Postseason WNIT.

Kansas State returns nine letter winners for the 2020-21 season. K-State also welcomes in graduate transfer Sydney Goodson, junior Makayla Pippin, redshirt freshman Jada Thorpe from injury and freshmen Taylor Lauterbach and Jada Moore.

The remainder of the 2020-21 non-conference schedule, the Big 12 schedule, game times, promotional and television schedules will be released later this summer.
