Dave Riggert had a chance to talk with Missouri Western track & field runner Hanna Williams. The junior from Trimble, Missouri discusses the season getting canceled, her career, becoming the first female at MWSU to qualify for the NCAA Championships, quitting track in high school and much more.

The Griffon track & field teams were able to complete the indoor season but they didn't get a chance to compete outdoors this spring as the COVID-19 pandemic canceled their season before they were able to go to a meet.

Williams, a Plattsburg High School graduate, has finished third in the MIAA two different times in her career. She was third in the 600 yard at the Indoor Championships this past February and she finished third in the 400 meter at the 2019 Outdoor Championships.

Williams also became the first female in Missouri Western track & field history to qualify for the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships, as she so in 2019.
