Dave Riggert was able to talk with Missouri Western softball outfielder Taylor Hoelscher as discusses the season getting canceled, her career in high school and at MWSU, the future of Griffon softball and much more.
The sophomore from Papillion, Nebraska was impressive in the 22 games the Griffons played this spring. She hit .412 with one home run and 16 RBI. Hoelscher added 10 runs scores, nine doubles and had an on-base percentage of .474.
Missouri Western was 13-9 and 2-0 in the MIAA when the season was canceled in March, but they were playing their best softball of the season. The Griffons won seven of their last eight, and 10 of their final 12 games.
