Two teens from Cameron hospitalized after pickup crash

DEKALB COUNTY — Two people were injured in a crash just after 2 p.m. Thursday in DeKalb County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1995 Dodge Dakota driven by a 16-year-old boy from DeKalb was northbound on NE Heimbraugh Road five miles north of Cameron. 

The driver lost control due to excessive speed. The driver overcorrected, the pickup traveled off the road, struck a culvert, became airborne and came to rest on the west side of the road.

A private vehicle transported the driver and a 16-year-old  passenger from Cameron to Cameron Regional Medical Center. They were properly restrained at the time of the crash, according to the MSHP.
