COLUMBIA, Mo. – With little to no live sports for fans to take in, former Mizzou record-setting quarterback Chase Daniel is looking to provide Tiger fans an exciting way to pass the time. On Friday, May 1 at 7 p.m. (central time, Daniel will hold an online “Chase Chats – The Reunion” event that will feature as many as 10 of his teammates from the 2007 team that eventually rose to No. 1 in the nation while finishing with a school-record 12 wins and final ranking of No. 4.
Daniel, who will co-host the chat along with the Voice of the Tigers Mike Kelly, will be joined by fellow Tiger legends Pig Brown, Chase Coffman, Ziggy Hood, Jeremy Maclin, William Moore, Martin Rucker, Tommy Saunders, Tony Temple, Sean Weatherspoon and Lorenzo Williams. The event will be streamed on Daniel’s Twitter (@ChaseDaniel) and Facebook (OfficialChaseDaniel) channels.
In addition to what should prove to be a memorable event, Daniel is tying in a charitable push and is asking Tiger fans to consider donating to The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri. Daniel has set a goal of raising $50,000 for the Food Bank, and he’s pledged to match funds up to $25,000 on his own to get things started.
“I’m so excited for this chat,” said Daniel, who signed a free agent contract this off-season with the Detroit Lions. “My time at Mizzou was transformational for me and my teammates and certainly the 2007 season was a big part of it. This will be a great way to catch up with a bunch of guys and have fun talking about such a memorable season. I’m confident our fans will enjoy it just as much as us, and I’m also excited about the chance for all of us to do something impactful for the Food Bank. They do amazing work for the community that has such a special place in my heart, and in this time of need, I hope fans will help us do something special for them,” he said.
