Dave Riggert had a chance to talk to Missouri Western men's basketball commit JaQuaylon Mays Tuesday to discuss his basketball journey, his two years at Johnson County Community College and his decision to play at MWSU. Click the link above to listen to the interview.

Mays was named a NJCAA Division II All-American earlier this week after leading Johnson County to a 25-7 record this past season.

The sophomore from Lincoln, Nebraska committed to Missouri Western last month after two years at JCCC. The 6'2", 155 pound guard was named the Jayhawk Conference Division II Player of the Year this past season as he averaged 16.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.2 steals per game. Mays shot 53.0 percent from the field, 37.9 percent from the three-point line and 71.9 percent on his free throws.

Mays has two years of eligibility left and he'll join a Griffon team that went 18-14 this past season and finished fourth in the MIAA with a 13-6 league mark.
