The Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat women's soccer team has set its 2020 fall schedule.
Under the direction of third-year head coach Marc Gordon, Northwest will play an 18-match regular season docket with 10 of those contests set for the Bearcat Pitch.
Northwest is slated to begin the 2020 season at home Friday, Sept. 4, against Southwest Baptist at 3 p.m.
The Bearcats will return a pair of all-MIAA selections in senior Manuela Gonzalez (Overland Park, Kansas) and sophomore Kaylie Rock (Lee's Summit, Missouri). Gonzalez earned all-MIAA honorable mention in her first year as a Bearcat after transferring from Johnson County Community College. She played in 19 games in 2019 scoring two goals and recording one assist. Rock also earned all-MIAA honorable mention in her first year as a Bearcat. She has played in 19 games in 2019 netting in three goals and two assists.
The Bearcats set the single-season school record for assists with 24 in 2019. The Bearcats tallied 29 goals in 2019, compared to nine goals in the entire 2018 campaign. Northwest's 31 goals scored are the most since the Bearcats also put 31 in the net in the 2012 season.
Northwest posted a mark of 6-10-3 overall and 4-5-2 in MIAA play in 2019. Northwest reached the MIAA Tournament for only the third time in school history and made its first appearance in the conference's postseason play since 2012.
