Platte County officials report a resident has contracted the coronavirus.
County officials give no details about the case, other than to say Platte County has one laboratory confirmed case of COVID-19. It is the first case in Platte County, though county officials point out there have been numerous confirmed cases throughout the Kansas City area.
County officials say all residents, regardless of age, are encouraged to practice social distancing to slow the spread of the virus.
Earlier, Platte County had ordered all public and private school activities to cease through April 3rd. Restaurants in Platte County are only allowed to operate with delivery, drive-through, and curbside pick-up. Grocery stores and convenience stores can continue to operate in Platte County. Activities of more than 10 people are banned.
