James H. Hardin, 84, of St Joseph, MO, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. He was born December 16, 1938 in St. Joseph, son of Alma and James Hardin.
Jim was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a Baker for Wonderbread, retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed camping and traveling, going to casinos, playing poker and bingo.
James was preceded in death by his parents, son, Terry Hardin, brothers, Norman Hardin and Waymer "Junior" Hardin, sisters, Wilma Mininger and Ella Blacketer, and his former wife, Burtona (Peoples) Hardin.
Survivors include: daughters, Lori (Matt) Cooper of St Joseph, Karen (Jeff) McKinney of Rochester, NH, Lisa (Lonnie) Downs of Berwick, ME, son, Kris Hardin of St. Joseph, his companion of 23 years, Shirley Vaughn of St. Joseph, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Services and Interment will be 3:00 pm, Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, MO.
