LIVINGSTON COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 10p.m. Friday in Livingston County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Dodge passenger vehicle driven by Brandi M. Wilfong, 40, St. Joseph, was eastbound on U.S. 36 just west of Chillicothe.
The vehicle began to overtake another, slower vehicle. In an effort to avoid striking the slower vehicle, Wilfong steered the Dodge to the left, traveled across the center line and off the road. The Dodge struck a guardrail, returned to the road, traveled off the right side of the road, struck a second guardrail, returned to the road and struck a third guardrail.
Chillicothe EMS transporteed Wilfong to Hedrick Medical Center. She was later air-lifted to St. Luke's on the Plaza in Kansas City.
She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
