Big 12 Conference announces additional measures

The Big 12 Conference announces that beginning Friday, March 13, it is suspending all regular-season competitions, on- and off-campus recruiting, and out-of-season practices until Sunday, March 29.

The suspension of these athletic-related activities does not include campus-based practices for in-season sports, strength and conditioning activities for all sports, and does not apply to teams and individuals participating in NCAA Championship competition.

Earlier today the Conference announced the cancellation of Big 12 Championship events through April 15.

Lafayette's Class 5 Quarterfinal will still be played, moved to Blue Springs South

The Missouri State High School Activities Association has changed the venue for Lafayette High School's Class 5 Boys Quarterfinal game Saturday against Raytown South.

The game will still be played at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, but it has been moved from Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence to Blue Spring South High School and only essential personnel will be allowed to attend. Essential personnel includes 15 players with two adults, four coaches, two managers and two administrators.

Essential personnel must be at Blue Springs South no later than 6:40 p.m. and no one will be allowed to enter the gym prior to 6:45 p.m. All personnel will be checked in by Lafayette administration and no one can be added to the list. The doors will be locked at 7:00 p.m. and no admittance will take place after that time.

There will be no admission cost, no concessions, and if you leave the game you will not be allowed to re-enter.
