Northwest Missouri State junior guard Mallory McConkey has been named to the 2019-20 honorable mention all-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball squad the league announced Tuesday.
McConkey (Guilford, Missouri) leads the Bearcats in scoring at 12.7 points per game and rebounding at 4.4 boards per contest. McConkey upped her scoring average to 13.5 points per game in MIAA action. She scored in double figures 14 times, including a career-high 27 points at Pittsburg State on Feb. 15.
McConkey and the Bearcat women's basketball team will travel to Kansas City and Municipal Auditorium to compete in the MIAA Tournament on Wednesday. It is the first time since 2013 that the Bearcats will play in the MIAA Tournament in Kansas City.
Northwest is slated to take on No. 7 seed Central Oklahoma in the first round at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The winner of the Northwest-Central Oklahoma game will take on No. 2-seeded Emporia State on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. in the MIAA quarterfinals.
