ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Western women's basketball team (21-7, 13-6) rolled past Washburn (17-11, 10-8) 69-39 in the final regular season game of the season on Saturday afternoon.
The Griffons held the Ichabods to just 15 field goals and one 3-point make in the final home game for Anastacia Johnson, Tami Cunigan, Katrina Roenfeldt, Simone Walker, Chris Wilson and Kylee Williams. The six seniors combined for 47 of Missouri Western's points on Saturday.
Missouri Western led 15-9 after a sluggish first quarter for both teams on the offensive end. Both teams picked it up a bit in the second quarter with the Griffons taking a 31-20 lead to halftime. MWSU scored 21 in the third quarter to extend its lead and held Washburn to just two field goals and three free throws in the fourth quarter to outscore the Ichabods 17-7 in the final quarter.
The win and the rest of Saturday's results left MWSU in a three-way tie for fourth place in the MIAA standings. Results of MIAA tiebreaking procedures will be released Saturday night when seeding and the tournament bracket are released.

- Corbyn Cunningham once again led the Griffons with 17 points on 6 of 12 shooting with seven rebounds
- Katrina Roenfeldt finished with 11 points and six rebounds
- Anastacia Johnson scored 10 with a team-high eight rebounds and four assists

Missouri Western will play in the MIAA Championships, March 4-8 at Kansas City's Municipal Auditorium. The Griffon finished in a three-way tie for fourth in the league but will be the No. 6 seed in KC. MWSU will play No. 3 seed Nebraska-Kearney at 2:15 p.m. Friday in the MIAA Quarterfinals.
