Bearcats' Hammond earns weekly MIAA track & field honor

Northwest Missouri State senior track athlete Jordan Hammond has been named the MIAA track athlete of the week for her performance at the Gorilla Classic this weekend.

Hammond placed fourth, first among Division-II runners, in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.58.

Already having top performances in the pentathlon (No. 4, the 400 (No. 10, and part of the 4×400 relay that is ranked fourth, Hammond's performance this weekend was the fourth-fastest 60 Hurdle time of the year. Hammond has played a key role in the Bearcats keeping their No. 3 national ranking for the past four weeks in the USTFCCCA National ranking.

The men's team fell to No. 9 in the USTFCCCA National ranking this week after being ranked at No. 7 the previous 3 weeks.
