Northwest's Hudgins earns MIAA Player of Week honor again

Northwest Missouri State sophomore guard Trevor Hudgins has earned his fourth MIAA men's basketball athlete of the week award. Hudgins is sharing this week's honor with Missouri Southern's Cam Martin.

Hudgins (Manhattan, Kansas) averaged 30.5 points per game and shot 65.6% from the field (21-32, including an astounding 63.2% from three-point range (12-of-19). Hudgins drained 77.8% of his free throws and averaged 4.5 assists per game as Northwest picked up two road victories over Missouri Southern (96-75) and Pittsburg State (95-60).

Hudgins poured in a game-high 33 points on 10-of-19 shooting in a 21-point win at No. 14-ranked Missouri Southern. Hudgins knocked in 7-of-13 three-pointers and 6-of-7 free throws in the triumph. Hudgins handed out six assists to go along with two turnovers in 40 minutes of action.

Hudgins recorded his sixth straight 20-plus point scoring game with a game-high 28 points at Pittsburg State. Hudgins went 11-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-6 from three-point range against the Gorillas. Hudgins dished out six assists against one turnover in 31 minutes of action.

The Northwest men's basketball team will be in action Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Bearcat Arena against Missouri Southern.
