Northwest Missouri State women fall at Pittsburg State 60-54

PITTSBURG, Kansas - The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team fell just short of defeating the Pitt State Gorillas, falling 60-54. The Bearcats struggled from the field in the game shooting only 33.3% from the field and 23.8% from behind the arc. Pittsburg State went 21-23 from the free-throw line and Northwest went 13-15.

Mallory McConkey scored a career high 27 points in the game and added nine rebounds as well. No other Bearcat was in double figures. Paityn Rau also had nine rebounds on the game and Erika Schlosser led the team with three assists.

Tristan Gegg led the Gorillas with 24 points and Maya Williams added 10 points as well. Athena Alvarado led Pitt State with nine rebounds and no one on the Gorillas had more than one assist.

The Bearcats will be back in Bearcat Arena this Thursday to take on Missouri Southern at 5:30 p.m.
