A former Peru State College student has been convicted of killing a fellow student in a missing person case that dates back to late 2010.

A jury in Beatrice has convicted Joshua Keadle of second-degree murder in the presumed death of 19-year-old Tyler Thomas, missing since December 3rd of 2010. Thomas hasn’t been seen since leaving a party near the Peru State campus in southeast Nebraska.

Prosecutors told jurors Keadle told authorities he and Thomas had sex in his vehicle the night she disappeared. Fellow college students told jurors Thomas had asked them to tell police he was with them the night Thomas disappeared.

Keadle maintained throughout the trial he left Thomas at a Missouri River boat dock, alive.
