HARRISONVILLE, Mo. (AP) — Authorities say a fleeing motorist has been charged in a pursuit in which he drove the wrong way on a western Missouri highway

Twenty-three-year-old Quasheena Cadenhead, of Kansas City, was charged Sunday with resisting arrest by fleeing.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the pursuit started around 4 a.m. Sunday when a deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on Interstate 49 south of Peculiar. Cadenhead is accused of accelerating to speeds of more than 100 mph as additional deputies joined the pursuit. He then exited the interstate, went through a Harrisonville truck stop and got back onto the interstate headed in the wrong direction, the release said.

A pursuing deputy struck his vehicle after he got off the interstate at the Missouri 291 ramp, ending the pursuit, the release said. Cadenhead was admitted for observation at a hospital, while the deputy was treated and released.

Bond for Cadenhead is set at $7,500 cash only. He also is being held for 23 active warrants from Kansas City Police Department and a failure to appear traffic warrant in Lee’s Summit. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
