Driver hospitalized after semi slides on ice down embankment

DAVIESS COUNTY— One person was injured in an accident just after 5a.m. Thursday in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Freightliner driven by Scott A. Emerson, 65, Winona, MN., was southbound on Interstate 35 eight miles southeast of Winston.

The driver lost control on the ice covered road. The vehicle struck a guardrail, left the road, traveled down an embankment, struck a private fence and tree.

Daviess County EMS transported Emerson to Cameron Regional Medical Center. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
