Snow showers and flurries today with temps near 13

The week will start of colder than normal with a chance or snow in the late morning into the early afternoon. Low temperatures will bottom out in the single digits to low teens with wind chills in the -8 to 14°F range so it's definitely a heavy coat and gloves day. Temperatures will warm up slightly into the teens and lower 20s, but will drop back down Tuesday with very cold wind chills again. The next winter weather system will move into the area late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with snow changing to a rain/snow mix, only minor accumulations are expected as of this morning. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

M.L.King Day: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 2 p.m., then a chance of flurries after 3 p.m. Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 13. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 5. Calm wind.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: Snow likely after midnight, mixing with rain after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 34 by 3 a.m. South wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday: Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 11 a.m. High near 38. South wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday Night: Rain likely, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Thursday Night: A chance of rain before 9 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow between 9 p.m. and midnight, then a chance of snow after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
