NEWTON COUNTY –One person died in an accident just before 9:30a.m. Sunday in Newton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Ford F150 driven by Gregory S. Lumpkins, 49, Webb City, was southbound on Interstate 49 two miles north of Neosho.
The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and the driver overcorrected. The pickup traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.
Lumpkins was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Parker Funeral Home in Joplin. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
