Area residents can get to know restaurants around St. Joseph during the first ever Restaurant Week.

St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce Director of Communications & Marketing Kristi Bailey says they are partnering with Joe Town Fun to put on Restaurant Week at the end of February.

“Restaurants can showcase some new food items or some specials for the week and residents and those from around the area are encouraged to come in and try some of our different restaurants,” Bailey says. “Maybe go to a place that you’ve never been before or if it’s one of your favorite places, maybe they’ve got something new on the menu that they’re trying out. So it’s really going to be a great chance for food lovers to get out and try something new.”

Restaurant Week will take place February 21st through March 1st, a typically slow time of year for restaurants.

“We thought we were going to do it in January," Bailey says, "But some of the restaurants said, 'You know, it would really help us out if we could do it after football season, after Valentine’s Day.' So we have pushed it back to February 21st through March 1st as a way to help businesses, help some people come out and support them in what can be a really slow time of year for restaurants.”

Restaurants interested in participating have until January 31st to sign up at stjrestaurantweek.com.
