Foggy and breezy today with temps near 42

Dense freezing fog (fog with air temperatures below freezing) has formed over eastern KS and western Missouri this morning. Visibility will likely be reduced below 1 mile and possibly lower than 1/4 mile at times. Freezing fog can also cause slick spots on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. High temperatures will depend on your location the next few days as northern Missouri will see highs in the 30s and central Missouri will get into the 50s. A area of drizzle and freezing drizzle is possible over N central Missouri Wednesday morning, minor ice accumulations are possible. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Patchy fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. South southeast wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Tonight: A chance of rain before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. South southeast wind 7 to 11 mph becoming west northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 41. West northwest wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 31. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

Wednesday: A slight chance of drizzle, snow, and freezing drizzle before 10am, then a slight chance of drizzle between 10am and noon. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 43. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 34.
