Three hospitalized after Nodaway Co. head-on crash

NODAWAY COUNTY — Three people were injured in an accident just before 10a.m. Sunday in Nodaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy 2500 driven by David L. Auffert, 58, Parnell, was northbound on MO 46 at Armstrong.

The driver attempted to make a left turn onto Armstrong Street. The driver failed to yield to a 1998 Toyota Tacoma driven by Ronald L. Petersen, 57, Grant City. The vehicles were involved in a head-on collision.

Nodaway County EMS transported Petersen to Mosaic Life Care in Maryville. A private vehicle transported Auffert and a 11-year-old passenger in the Chevy to Mosaic in Maryville. Auffert was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
