A winter storm is likely this weekend and will bring with it a multitude of hazards. From Friday night through Saturday evening, freezing rain amounts could be as high as a couple tenths of an inch. The freezing rain is expected to change to snow from north to south late Friday night into Saturday with the heaviest snow amounts through Sunday morning in northeastern Missouri. Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 60. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 17 to 22 mph becoming west northwest 8 to 13 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.
Tonight: A slight chance of showers after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 34. West northwest wind 6 to 8 mph becoming north northeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Friday: Rain showers before 3pm, then rain, possibly mixed with freezing rain between 3pm and 5pm, then snow showers, possibly mixed with sleet after 5pm. High near 36. North northeast wind 9 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation expected.
Friday Night: Rain showers and snow showers, possibly mixed with freezing rain before 7pm, then snow showers, possibly mixed with freezing rain between 7pm and midnight, then a chance of snow showers after midnight. Low around 16. North wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Saturday: A chance of snow. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 25. North wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
