University of Missouri junior tight end Albert Okwuegbunam has announced that he will forego his senior season at Mizzou and enter the NFL Draft.

Okwuegbunam was a 2018 John Mackey Award finalist and earned 2nd Team All-SEC honors as a freshman. He had 26 catches for 306 yards and six touchdowns this season, and finished his MU career with 98 receptions, 1187 yards and 23 touchdowns.

He is the sixth ranked tight end in the 2020 draft according to ESPN's Mel Kiper, Jr.

"Ever since the first time I put on a helmet and shoulder pads, playing in the NFL has been my dream," Okwuegbunam wrote on Twitter. "God-willing I've been blessed with this opportunity and I have decided to embark on that journey now. ... I'm excited for what the future holds but always will be thankful to Missouri."

Okwuegbunam helped Missouri go 6-6 this season, but the school fired head coach Barry Odom on Saturday.
