Police: Missing Kansas man found safe

MCPHERSON COUNTY — A missing man from Inman, the subject of a statewide Silver Alert has been found and is safe.


The Inman Police Department reported that 70-year-old Richard W. Andrus was located safely overnight in Rice County


Authorities released no additional details.

MCPHERSON COUNTY – The Inman Police Department requested that the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issue a statewide Silver Alert for a missing Inman man.

 

The whereabouts of Richard W. Andrus, 70, are unknown, and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate him.


Andrus is a 70-year-old white male, 5 ft. 11 in., 193 lbs. He is bald and has blue eyes. Andrus was last seen wearing a green jacket and jeans. He was last known to be driving a red 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with Vietnam Veteran tag 5123, heading in an unknown direction. Last point of contact with Andrus was at his home in Inman, Kan. at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1.


Andrus did possibly use his credit card at a Casey’s convenience store in Ellsworth, Kan. on Sunday evening. He does suffer from dementia. If you see Richard Andrus, or his vehicle, please immediately call 620-245-1266.

Kansas man under investigation for alleged child rape

JACKSON COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man for alleged child sex crimes.


On October 22, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office investigators and deputies served a search warrant on the home a home in rural Mayetta, according to Sheriff Tim Morse. During the search warrant, law enforcement interviewed 63-year-old Ronnie Jack Dinger, and collected evidence from the scene.


Deputies arrested Dinger November 27 on a Jackson County District Court warrant for rape, aggravated indecent liberties to a child under sixteen years of age and aggravated indecent liberties to a child under 14 years of age, according to Morse.


Dinger was booked into the Jackson County Jail where and was later released after posting bond. He is expected to make a court appearance this week.
