Roland (Ron) was called home August 17, 2023 at 10:30 am, after a long battle with cancer. Roland was born to Francis and Mary Lou (Cannon) Bayer.
Ron and his wife Carolyn, of 40 years, created his greatest pride and joy, his family. Roland worked for Tyson Foods for 16 years, before retiring in 2020. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering with this and that. He had many, many hobbies going to the races, old cars, monster trucks, and camping.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Brandy Watts.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn, of the home, two sons, Brian (Andrea) Bayer, and Ernest (Melissa) Bayer, two daughters, Charlotte (Dean) Berry, and Rosemary (Jeremy) Murphy, five brothers, James Bayer, William Bayer, David (Mary) Bayer, Charles Bayer, and Marvin (Lisa) Bayer, two sisters, Tonya (Joy) Bayer and Star (Mark) Wascher, aunts, Madeline Herring and Mary Wohlgmuth, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home, funeral services and public live stream following at 2:00 pm. He will be cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
