Maryville woman hospitalized after 2-vehicle crash

NODAWAY COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 11:30a.m. Wednesday in Nodaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Dodge Durango driven by Penni D. Fox, 52, Maryville, was southbound on MO 148 two miles north of Maryville. The driver turned left into a private drive and traveled into the path of a northbound 2019 Dodge 2500 driven by Nicholas J. Myers, 35, Norwlk, Iowa.

A private vehicle transported Fox to Mosaic in Maryville. Myers was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.

Coffee For a Cure event raises nearly $7,000 for local breast cancer programs

The Coffee For a Cure fundraiser held last month in St. Joseph raised nearly $7,000 to benefit local breast cancer causes.

According to Mosaic Life Care, The Human Bean in St. Joseph generated $6,903.34 in sales, tips and donations to benefit the Mosaic Life Care Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund. Mosaic Life Care Auxiliary is matching the donation, making it $13,806.68, a 36-percent increase from last year’s event.

Mosaic Life Care Auxiliary supports the Breast Cancer Patient Assistance Fund, which provides mammograms, education and post diagnosis support for breast cancer patients in the St. Joseph area.
