Griffons cruise past Nebraska Christian 101-34

ST. JOSEPH - The Missouri Western men's basketball team evened its record at 3-3 with a 101-34 rout of Nebraska Christian Wednesday night in the MWSU Fieldhouse.


The Griffons actually trailed early in the game, but went on a 14-0 run early in the game and never let off. The team made 18 3-pointers, second most in program history and tied for the fifth most steals by any Griffon team with 16. MWSU led 45-19 at the half and outscored the Sentinels 56-15 in the second half.


NOTABLES

  • MWSU limited Nebraska Christian to just nine 3-point attempts with eight of them coming in the second half and three makes.
  • The Griffons were dominant on the glass, pulling down 46 rebounds to Nebraska Christian's 28.
  • Nebraska Christian was 14 of 50 from the field.
  • Missouri Western scored 29 points off 22 NCC turnovers and had 25 second chance points.
  • The Griffon bench out-scored NCC's 54-14.
  • All 12 Griffons who played scored at least four points with five in double-figures.
  • Tyrell Carroll scored a team-high 16 in 21 minutes with five assists.
  • Jonathan Mesmacque was 4 of 7 from 3-point range and scored 14 points.
  • Reese Glover and Sam Siganos both scored 12 points and Zach Anderson had 10 points and six rebounds.
  • Beau Baker turned in his second consecutive double-digit rebound game with 10. He also had a team-high six assists.


UP NEXT

Missouri Western plays its next six on the road, beginning with the Thanksgiving Classic in Grand Junction, Colorado, where the Griffons will face Colorado Mesa (Nov. 29) and Western Colorado (Nov. 30).
