KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A career night that included a game-winning floater in overtime helped Missouri Western point guard Tyrell Carroll earn the MIAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

The sophomore from Omaha scored a career-high 29 points as the Griffons outlasted Missouri S&T 66-64 in overtime. Carroll hit a three-pointer with three seconds left in regulation that looked like it would be the game-winner, but S&T hit a buzzer beater to send the game to overtime.

Tied at 64 with one second left, Carroll dropped in a floater from the lane to give MWSU a victory in their home opener. Carroll had a team-high four assists and three steals to go with four rebounds. He was 11 for 19 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free throw line. Carroll scored 10 points during a 20-10 Griffon run late in the second half that gave MWSU a six-point lead with 3:37 left.

Missouri Western (2-3) hosts Nebraska Christian Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the MWSU Fieldhouse before playing six-straight on the road.
