MWSU's Wilson earns weekly MIAA women's basketball honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Western's Chris Wilson helped the women's basketball team to a 2-0 start in the MWSU Fieldhouse last week and was named MIAA Player of the Week after wins over Southwest Baptist and College of Saint Mary (Neb.).

 

The senior from St. Louis averaged 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game over the two home victories. She dished out six assists, had six steals and shot 68%. Against SBU, Wilson completed her third consecutive double-double of the season with 22 points and 13 rebounds to go with five assists and three steals. Against Saint Mary, Wilson was held under 10 rebounds for the first time this season, but still pulled down eight boards with 19 points and three steals on 9 of 9 shooting.

 

Four games into her senior season at MWSU, Wilson is second in the MIAA in scoring (20.5); third in rebounding (11.3); third in field goal percentage (.593); 10th in steals (2.3) and 15th in blocks (0.8).
