Northwest Missouri State women lose at home to Maryville 68-57

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats women's basketball team lost to the Maryville University Saints 68-57, to fall to 2-2 on the year. The Bearcats fell behind quickly losing the first quarter 19-12. Northwest played well defensively, forcing Maryville to commit 15 turnovers, and getting seven steals. The Bearcats struggled to find the basket shooting only 18-of-62 (29%) from the field.


Jaelyn Haggard led the Bearcats with 16 points, followed by Kendey Eaton with 12 and Kylie Coleman with 11. Eaton led the Bearcats in rebounds with six. Mia Stillman and Erika Schlosser led the Bearcats with three steals each.  


Maryville had two scorers over 20 points, Abby Monis had 24 points and Mary Barton had 21. Monis added 10 rebounds to give herself a double-double on the game. Barton led -the Saints with nine assists and added six rebounds as well. The Saints outrebounded the Bearcats 46-23, including 15 offensive rebounds. 


The Bearcats will be back in action Thursday against Nebraska Christian in Bearcat Arena at 5:30 p.m.
