Northwest Missouri State University head women's soccer coach Marc Gordon has announced the addition of eight recruits for the 2020 Bearcat squad.
Sophia Cissell is a 5'9" midfielder/forward from Liberty, Missouri. Cissell earned first-team all-state honors as a sophomore and as a junior at St. Piux X High School for head coach Todd Ashby. Cissell was named the region's Offensive Player of the Year as a junior. Entering her senior year, Cissell has scored more than 100 goals. She played in the state tournament's final four as a freshman and as a sophomore. Cissell has earned first-team all-conference, all-district and all-region honors. Cissell played club soccer for Kansas City Scott Gallagher (KCSG) for coach Jeff Davis.
Ashton Dain is a 5'8" defender from Olathe, Kansas. She competed at Olathe Northwest High School. She played club soccer for KCSG Copa 01 for coach Jason Bryson. Dain also took part in cross country, track and field, National Honor Society, Link Crew and Student-Athlete Leadership (SAIL). She played club soccer for Midwest Prime Academy. She is interested in majoring in sports broadcasting at Northwest.
Sydney Mueller is a 5'5" defender from Gretna, Nebraska. She tallied first-team all-conference honors as a freshman, sophomore and junior. She earned honorable mention all-state status as a sophomore and junior. Mueller served as team captain in 2018 and 2019. She posted two goals and seven assists in the 2019 season for head coach Digger Hawkins. Mueller played club soccer for Midwest Prime Academy.
Hannah Stirling is a 5'8" mid-fielder from Olathe, Kansas. She was the leading goal scorer at Olathe North High School in 2019 for head coach Craig Gerfen. Stirling earned second-team all-conference accolades in 2019. She posted honorable mention all-conference honors in both 2017 and 2018. She captured the KASHAA Citizenship Award in 2016. She competed in club soccer for KCSG Copa 01 for head coach Jason Bryson. In club play, her squad was ranked No. 45 in the nation in 2018 and won the U18 state championship in 2018. Stirling is interested in majoring in marine biology at Northwest.
Maddie Taylor is a 5'4" defender from Kearney, Missouri. Taylor earned second-team all-state honors as a senior at Kearney High School for head coach Amanda Hopkins. She also tallied first-team all-district and first-team all-conference accolades in 2018 and 2019. Taylor was a three-year starter as a defender and served as team captain in 2019. Taylor helped lead Kearney to third-place finishes in the state in 2018 and 2019. She also played club soccer for KCSG Academy 01 Navy for coach Jeff Davis.
Ashley Williams is a 5'7" goalkeeper from Riverside, California. Williams competed at Woodcrest Christian High School for head coach Gianna Loza. She earned first-team all-league honors as a junior after making 96 saves and 0.694 goals against average. She served as team captain as a junior. She was a four-time Maxpreps player of the game selection. She notched first-team all-conference accolades in track & field as she competed in the 100m, 200m and 400m. She qualified for the 2019 CIF finals in the 400m. She played club soccer from Arsenal FC ECNL for coach Anthony Glenn.
Grace Wineinger is a 5'6" defender from Kansas City, Missouri. She competed at Park Hill High School for head coach Makenzie Gillaspie. She also played club soccer for KC Athletics 01/02 ECNL for coach Robert Palmer.
Erica Ziska is a 5'8" defender from Omaha, Nebraska. Ziska played at Harry A. Burke High School for head coach Brian Anderson. Ziska started as a freshman in high school. She is a three-time honorable mention all-state selection (2015, 2016, 2017). She also competed in club soccer for SOFC Elite for coaches Aleks Berzins and Jen Gillespie.
