Bearcat women even record with win over Minnesota Crookston

KEARNEY, Neb. - The Northwest Missouri State Bearcat women's basketball team defeated the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles 66-64 to go 1-1 in the UNK Tournament. Kendey Eaton hit two free throws to go up 66-64 with five seconds left. The Golden Eagles missed a contested look to tie on their final possession. 


Eaton led the Bearcats with 30 points on 12-17 shooting and 2-4 from behind the three-point line. She also went 4-4 from the free throw line. Erika Schlosser was the only other player in double figures with 11 points including three three-pointers. Zoie Hayward led the team with 7 rebounds. The Bearcats had 8 turnovers in the game which was 6 less than the Golden Eagles. The went 11-27 from behind the arc, and 7-8 from the foul line. 

 

Julia Peplinski and and Ashley Freund led the Golden Eagles with 13 points each. Bren Fox was also in double figures with 11. Peplinski led the team in rebounds ten and Fox added nine. Minnesota-Crookston outrebounded Northwest 42-24. 


Northwest will be back in action Wednesday, November 13th in Bearcat Arena at 6 p.m.
