Buchanan County voters Tuesday approved the renewal of the quarter-cent capital improvement sales tax with 71% voting yes. The sales tax includes an 8-year sunset clause. According to Presiding Commissioner Lee Sawyer the $3.5 million generated annually by the tax helps with capital improvement projects as well as economic development.
