Charges have been filed in reference to an armed robbery at a gas station over the weekend.
According to a press release from Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney Ronald R. Holliday’s office, criminal charges have been filed against 24-year-old Skyler Grant Harrison in reference to the armed robbery that occurred around 7:30 a.m. on November 2nd at Garfield 66.
Harrison is charged with the Class A Felony of Robbery in the First Degree by forcibly stealing money from Garfield 66 while armed with a deadly weapon.
According to the probable cause statement, the suspect entered the business displaying the firearm and demanded money from the clerk on duty. During the robbery, the suspect fired the weapon, which missed the clerk but hit a computer near the cash register. The suspect then fled by jumping into a vehicle that was left running near the front door and occupied by other individuals.
The range of punishment for a Class A Felony in Missouri is 10 to 30 years or Life Imprisonment in the Department of Corrections.
Harrison has been convicted three times in Missouri courts for felony offenses in the
past including Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property, and Damage to Jail Property. All prior convictions were in Nodaway County.
At the arraignment, the judge ruled that the defendant was a threat to the community and denied bail.
