Lorene (Wheeler Woyski) Hogan, 103, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Thursday, February 8th at her home.
She was born September 1, 1920 in St. Joseph, MO to Alvie and Rose (Rosie Jenkins) Wheeler. She graduated from Benton High School in 1940.
She married George J. Woyski June 6, 1942. They lived and farmed near DeKalb, Mo. George was killed August 10, 1965 in a farm accident. July 23, 1970 she married Tom Hogan. They had a good life together. They traveled a lot and spent a lot of time with family. Tom died February 28, 2000.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Alvie and Rosie (Jenkins) Wheeler and stepmother Mae Wheeler, brothers Millard, Leon, Lawrence "Pete" and Ernie Wheeler, stepbrothers Gerald Compton and Louis "Buck" McQueen, stepsister Lila "Sissy" McCan, Grandson; Rhett Eckley and Granddaughter; Karrie Williams,sons-in-law Gary Kerns and Lawrence Sampson.
Survivors include daughters Janice Kerns, Rosie Sampson, Patricia (Clay) Jennings and son George (Barbara) Woyski, stepson Tom (Donna) Hogan and stepdaughter Sue (Larry ) Dickens, grandchildren Derek (Kimberly) Eckley, Amy Lieffring, Joely (Kevin) Jones, Ryan (Kim) Woyski, Dustin (Kelly Woyski, step grandchildren Beth (Chad) Neff, Jacy (Chris) Guy, Eric (Niki) Dickens, great grandchildren Christin (Nathan) Arnold, Kyle (Heather) Eckley, Nick Eckley, Emily (Cody McGriffin) Eckley, Taylor (Mikaylee) Henningsen, Hunter (Rylee Harris) Lieffring Stetson and Mallie Lieffring, Hannah (John) Erneste, Mackenzie Jones, Graham and Emery Woyski, Deklin and Kolton Woyski, step great grandchildren Presley and Spencer Neff, Skylar, Caily and Nolan Guy, Brooklyn and Taylor Dickens, great great grandchildren Macy, Molly, Jude, and Emery Arnold, Harper and Kallyn Eckley and Asher Eckley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM Thursday at our chapel with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Interment Mount Olivet.
