Two hospitalized after NW Missouri driver falls asleep

CALDWELL COUNTY — Two people were injured in an accident just after 12:30a.m. Sunday in Caldwell County.


The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Chevy passenger vehicle driven by Shawn D. Manley, 40, Cameron, was eastbound on Route HH two miles east of Kingston.


The driver fell asleep and the vehicle crossed the centerline. It traveled off the road and struck a ditch.


A private vehicle transported Manley and a passenger Johna K. Asher, 40, Kingston, to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Manley was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
