Eagle Radio recently launched a station that features music from the 80s and 90s, along with the same local sports content.

Joetown 107.5 was launched on August 14th. Eagle Radio General Manager Doug Schmitz said it was the right time for a change for KESJ with some of the changes at ESPN.

“With the desire to put on an 80s and 90s format here in St. Joseph, music that was played several years ago on KKJO making a resurgence in popularity and with 107.5, the FM signal for KESJ now available to use, it was a great opportunity to put the 80s and 90s music back on the air here in St. Joseph,” Schmitz said.

Eagle Radio Sports Director Dave Riggert said the station will still cover sports.

“Local high school sports… High school football games and our pregame, Coaches Corner on Saturday, everything like that will stay on the new station even though it’s not a sports station completely, it will be on 107.5 and still be able to serve the community with our high school sports coverage,” Riggert said.

The high school football Jamboree will be broadcast live on Joetown 107.5 on Friday. According to Riggert, this year, there will be just three teams participating in the Jamboree since Bishop Leblond has moved to 8-man football. The Jamboree kicks off at 6:30 p.m. this Friday at Spratt Stadium and can be heard on Joetown 107.5 and online.

A free concert next month presented by St. Jo Frontier Casino will celebrate the new station. The 80s music outdoor concert will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 14th at the casino. Click here for more information.
