HOWELL COUNTY — Two people died in an accident just after 12:15a.m. Sunday in Howell County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Cailey E. Stowers, 17, West Plains, was southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 63 just north of West Plains. The vehicle struck a northbound Kia Optima driven by Vladik Nadtochayev, 21, head-on.
Howell was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Howell County Cornorer’s office.
Nadtochayev was transported to Ozark Medical Center where he died.
An air ambulance transported a passenger in the KIA Viktor Vyrovchtchikov, 19, Willow Springs, to Cox South in Springfield.
The MSHP had no information of seat belt usage.
