ST.JOSEPH MO. - A pinnacle of excellence that recognizes elite performers, coaches, contributors, teams and partners will be portrayed in a way that epitomizes their accomplishments as construction will begin this fall on the Griffon Athletics Hall of Fame presented by Rogers Pharmacy.

Thanks to a major gift from Rogers Pharmacy, the Hall of Fame, which will be located inside Spratt Memorial Stadium in the space that bears the name, will showcase and preserve the stories and accomplishments of the 110 individual members, 11 teams and one corporate partner like never before.

"The impact of this gift will be felt and celebrated by past, present and future Griffons," Missouri Western vice president for intercollegiate athletics Dr. Josh Looney said. "Creating a physical Hall of Fame space in the renovated Spratt Stadium provides the opportunity to forever honor Griffon greats while reaching out to our future."

The design phase of the space will take place in August with the finalization of concepts and construction to begin in early fall 2019. An estimated completion date of early 2020 has been set with the actual location being the "The Crawford Den" inside Spratt Memorial Stadium's Hall of Fame Room.

"For many years Rogers Pharmacy has proudly partnered with and sponsored Griffon Athletics," stated Rogers Pharmacy CEO Benne Rogers. "We are excited to announce our new enhanced partnership at MWSU and look forward to helping celebrate the accomplishments of these individuals in the Hall of Fame. On behalf of my family and over 100 employees of Rogers Pharmacy, I want to thank MWSU and Griffon Athletics for this tremendous opportunity."

Amenities in the Hall of Fame will include visual tributes of the 122 current inductees along with other great moments in Griffon history. The 2019 class will be enshrined during Rogers Pharmacy Hall of Fame weekend on October 25-26.

"We are incredibly appreciative of this partnership and want to extend our sincere gratitude to Mel (Rogers, Benne (Rogers, Kurt (Clark, and everyone associated with Rogers Pharmacy, for their commitment to advancing Missouri Western and the St. Joseph Community. What an incredible time to be a Griff," Looney said.
