DEKALB COUNTY —Two people died in an accident just before 3:30a.m. Tuesday in DeKalb County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol a 2009 Honda CRV driven by Desari P. Lathrop, 29, Kansas City, was westbound on U.S. 36 at Bob Griffin Road.
The Honda struck the towed unit of a 2020 Freightliner semi.
Lathrop and a passenger Savion E. Spearman-Lathrop, 9, Kansas City, were pronounced dead at the scene. Cameron EMS transported Ariana A. Hill, 3, the only other passenger in the Honda, to Cameron Regional Medical Center. The semi driver Kenneth G. Eldridge, 59, Petaluma, CA., was not injured.
Lathrop and Spearman-Lathrop were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
